During a trip back to Viet Nam on summer 2000, Mr. and Mrs. Vu had an opportunity to visit the house for the orphanage and disability children located at the District One, Mr. & Mrs. Vu were extremely moved when they eye-witnessed hard lives those poor children were enduring and realized they needed help desperately. Therefore, after returned to the U.S, Mr. and Mrs. Vu took an initiate step to gather their friends and families together and created an unofficial non-profit organization to collect donation to help out few orphanage camps needed support in Viet Nam.
There are hundreds of places like that in Viet Nam with just contributions from Mr. and Mrs. Phu and their friends were not enough. Hence, they decided to seek for support from the public by hosted few Fundraising Events. At the beginning, they have encountered many difficulties. But with the hearts filled with love and compassion, along with positive feedbacks and continuous supports came from the guests who attended the fundraising events, Mr. & Mrs. Phu have overcome obstacles. They decided to convert the unofficial non-profit organization to an official one and named it the Love & Charity Non-Profit Organization. In 2007, they have invited Mr. David Duong Nguyen, a long time friend and also a main sponsor of previous events, to join the Committee Board of Love & Charity Non-Profit Organization. In 2008, there were 8 other people volunteered to be a part of this organization. They are Mr. Chinh Dinh, Mr. Dong Pham, Mr. Nhon Nguyen, Ms. Ngan Nguyen, Mr. Long Duong, Ms. Lauryn Bui, Ms. Ninh Kieu, and Ms. Hang Vu. Although everyone in this group comes from different backgrounds, but we are all here with the same purpose that is to reach out to the unfortunate people in Viet Nam.
The establish of Love & Charity Non-Profit Organization with the primary mission is to become a bridge bringing LOVE and CHARITY from the people in the U.S to the poorer needed help in VN. Our goal is to raise funds to support the various underprivileged orphanage camps and disabled / abandoned people. After 4 strong years dedicate to our mission, on March 2009, we were acknowledged by the U.S Government with a TAX ID 26-4579578.
The Love & Charity Non-profit Organization is solemnly committing to its mission and goal. We are a non-profit group with no race, religion discrimination or political involvement. All current members in a Committee Board are unpaid or inheriting any personal benefit by all means. For group activities such as meeting, transportation, socialize, etc, are self-paid by each member. Furthermore, as an in-house stipulation, members are required to purchase ticket to attend each fund raising event, just like any other guest. And each trip to Viet Nam to distribute the donation is also self-paid by a designate member.
The Love & Charity Non-profit Organization is welcome new members who are fostering the same goal as ours and interested in volunteer work.
